A small flame is introduced into and then removed from a glass cup to create a vacuum. The cup is applied to the body at therapeutic locations. The amount of suction can be altered for patient comfort. Cupping helps release stubborn muscle tension and stimulates white blood cell production. This creates a systemic immune-boosting response.

Cupping marks last approximately 7–10 days after the session.

Important Contraindications

Cupping should not be done if:

  • Using blood thinners
  • 24 hours before or 48 hours after chemotherapy
  • You have a history of a blood clotting disorder

The glass cups are moved around your body or aligned like above to release tension.
