Cancellation Policy
We ask that you give us at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. This allows us to offer your spot to another client who may need it.
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the appointment time may incur a 50% cancellation fee. We understand that life happens. If an unexpected situation arises, please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your options.

- If a staff member tests positive, we will promptly notify any clients who may have been exposed.
Cancer Policy
We want to ensure the safety and wellbeing of every client. Massage can be deeply beneficial during and after cancer treatment, but requires careful consideration based on your specific situation.
Clients undergoing active cancer treatment
If you are currently undergoing active cancer treatment or taking medications related to cancer treatment, your therapist has the discretion to determine whether bodywork is appropriate for your session. This decision is made to protect both you and your provider, considering the potential risks associated with massage during active treatment.
We encourage you to speak with your oncologist before booking and to inform us of your treatment status at the time of booking.
Clients with cancer not undergoing active treatment
If you have a cancer diagnosis but are not currently undergoing active treatment, we require a doctor's note confirming it is safe for you to receive bodywork. Once received, your therapist will review it and confirm their comfort level providing services.
Prenatal & Postnatal Policy
All massages performed on pregnant bodies at Auroraflow are prenatal massages only. We do not perform standard massage modalities on pregnant clients. This ensures your safety and comfort throughout your pregnancy.
Prenatal massage
Our prenatal massage is safe at any stage of pregnancy and uses specialized positioning, bolstering, and techniques designed for pregnant bodies. We can assist with back pain, hip tension, swelling, anxiety, and stress.
We recommend informing us of your trimester and any complications at the time of booking. While we do not require a doctor's note, we recommend speaking with your OB or midwife if you have a high-risk pregnancy or specific concerns.
Postnatal massage
Postnatal massage is available and can be deeply supportive in the weeks and months after birth. Please inform your therapist of your birth experience and any areas of physical focus. If you have had a C-section, please review our Post-Surgical Policy below.
Post-Surgical Policy
Massage can be an incredibly powerful part of post-surgical recovery, helping with scar tissue, lymphatic drainage, mobility, and overall healing. However, it requires careful timing and communication.
General guidelines
- We ask that all recent surgical incisions be fully closed before receiving any bodywork, no open wounds.
- For most surgeries, we recommend waiting at least 6–8 weeks before booking, though this varies depending on the procedure.
- A doctor's clearance is strongly recommended and may be required depending on the nature of your surgery.
- Please inform your therapist of the type of surgery, date, and any areas that should be avoided or given special attention.
Gender-affirming surgeries
We have experience and genuine care for clients recovering from gender-affirming procedures. Please reach out before booking so we can discuss your specific needs and ensure your session is appropriately tailored. All conversations are confidential and judgment-free.
Intake & Consent
Every session at Auroraflow begins with a thorough, private intake, either a written form sent before your appointment, or a verbal check-in with your provider at the start of your session.
Your intake information helps your provider understand your goals, health history, any contraindications, and your comfort preferences, including pressure, areas to focus on or avoid, and draping preferences.
Everything shared during intake is private and confidential. It is never shared outside of the care team supporting your session.
Consent is ongoing throughout every session. You can ask your therapist to adjust pressure, skip areas, or stop the session entirely at any time, no questions asked.
