Service Scoop: Thai Massage

April 7, 2023

hai Massage, also known as Nuad Boran, is an ancient healing art and body therapy that has been practiced in Thailand for over 2,500 years. At Auroraflow, we offer this non-traditional massage experience that combines Hatha yoga, acupressure, stretching, and deep massage techniques to release tension and promote relaxation. In this month's service spotlight, we’ll share some reasons why Thai Massage is unique and beneficial for the body and mind.

“The Northern style, as taught at ITM, places more emphasis on yoga-like stretching positions and interaction and reflects the gentleness of the Northern people and the slower pace of the Northern Thai lifestyle.”

Thai Massage involves a combination of acupressure, stretching, and deep massage techniques to release tension and promote relaxation. During a session, the therapist will guide you through a series of assisted yoga poses and stretches while applying gentle pressure to specific points on your body. The massage involves consistent and supported body contact, utilizing passive stretching, compression, and assisted yoga poses to encourage deep relaxation and flexibility.

Thai Massage has numerous benefits, including improved flexibility and range of motion, relief from muscle tension and pain, reduced stress and anxiety, improved quality of sleep, enhanced circulation and cardiovascular health, and headache relief. Some of our clients even feel vibrating sensations after their sessions.

During a session, you'll remain fully clothed in loose, comfortable clothing, and the therapist will customize the session to your individual needs and preferences. The therapist will use their palms, thumbs, elbows, knees, feet, and legs to stretch, pull, and compress muscles and fascia and work with energy lines and points throughout the body.

At Auroraflow, we offer two types of Thai Massage. A full-body massage with durations of 90, 120, 150, and 180 minutes. We also offer a Thai foot massage that can range from 30 to 60 minutes.

To maximize the benefits of your Thai Massage, we recommend staying hydrated and communicating with your massage therapist about any areas of concern or preferences you may have. The therapist will also guide you through some deeper breathing exercises at certain points during the session to increase its effectiveness.

At Auroraflow, we offer Thai Massage services from a massage therapist who has trained in this specialty with Living Sabai in Asheville, NC, and the International Thai Massage School in Chiang Mai, Thailand, which is accredited by the Thailand Ministry of Education and approved by the Ministry of Public Health. All to say that our experienced therapists will ensure you receive a safe and enjoyable experience. Book your Thai Massage today and experience the unique benefits for yourself.
