TMJ massage focuses on relieving tension and pain in the temporomandibular joint (TMJ), which connects the jawbone to the skull and is responsible for the movement of the jaw. When the TMJ is stressed or injured, it can cause discomfort, pain, and difficulty eating, speaking, and even breathing.

Our trained massage therapists use gentle yet effective techniques to manipulate the muscles surrounding the TMJ, helping to alleviate pain and tension. The session lasts approximately . 30 minutes, with the option to add on a 60-minute Ashiatsu Massage to support full-body relief.

What clients can expect

Before the massage, our therapist will discuss any concerns or issues the client may be experiencing and ask about their medical history. The client will then be asked to lie down comfortably on a massage table, and the therapist will begin to work on the muscles surrounding the TMJ using a combination of gentle, relaxing strokes and deeper pressure where needed.

During the massage, the client may feel some discomfort or sensitivity around the jaw area, but the therapist will adjust the pressure accordingly to ensure the client's comfort level.

Post-treatment

After the massage, the therapist may provide some self-care tips and exercises to help maintain the benefits of the massage. It is also recommended that clients drink plenty of water to help flush out any toxins released during the massage. Some clients may also experience some slight bruising or tenderness after the massage, but this is normal and should subside within a few days.

Effective and specialized massage treatment that involves manipulating the muscles surrounding your temporomandibular joint.
