Castle Frame is the co-founder and CEO of Auroraflow. She started Auroraflow with her partner Lauren McCullough with a clear vision: to build a wellness space that centered people who had been historically marginalized by the spa industry: LGBTQ+ folks, BIPOC clients, plus-size bodies, and anyone who had ever felt unwelcome in a place that was supposed to be for healing.
On Starting Auroraflow
"The wellness industry has a diversity problem," Castle has said. "And it's not just about who works in these spaces. It's about who feels welcome, who gets to access care, and whose body is treated with dignity. We wanted to build something different."
On Staying Grounded
Outside of running Auroraflow, Castle is intentional about her own wellness practices. She prioritizes rest, community, and spending time with the people and things that restore her. She's a firm believer that you can't pour from an empty cup, and that self-care is an act of resistance as much as it is personal restoration.
On the Future of Auroraflow
"We're not done," she says. "The goal has always been to keep growing in ways that serve our community better: more providers, more services, more access, deeper roots in Durham. This is just the beginning."
